WHY DOES Safe Water MATTER?
In villages throughout Liberia, every time a child takes a drink, she must wonder, “Will this water make me sick?”
What if you could change that?
What if your gift could bring a lifetime of clean water to a small child and her family AND share the Good News of Jesus with them at the same time?
Most Americans never worry about the safety of the water we drink. We just go to the faucet or grab a bottle of water from the refrigerator. But, what if the water we drink every day made us sick? What if it smelled of sulfur and was tinted green from the algae content? Would you drink it?
Of course not.
But, for nearly one million people in the nation of Liberia, they drink water like that every day. They don’t have a choice. Imagine being the parent of a child in Liberia and being forced to give water to you child every day that is likely to give them severe diarrhea and could possibly kill them. Imagine knowing that ONE IN TWENTY children die from the same water in your country but having no other choice.

Frequently Asked Questions…
Q: How does The Last Well’s Safe Water System for Families work?
A: The Last Well’s system is made up of two buckets, and a hose, filter, connector, and a syringe that’s used periodically for rinsing the filter with clean water. Training in how to use the Safe Water System for Families as well as hygiene education, is provided with every system delivered, to ensure positive long-term results and improved health. A new system can be set up and ready to use in under five minutes!
The Last Well’s Safe Water System for Families is based on the same technology developed for kidney dialysis and has been tested and proven by doctors as well as the United Nations. Each filter is made up of tiny micro tubes with pores hundreds of times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. These pores remove deadly bacteria and allow only clean water to pass through for drinking. The filter effectively eliminates cholera, typhoid, E. coli, amoebic dysentery, and many other bacterial contaminants.
The Last Well’s Safe Water System for Families is also very easy to maintain. When the flow-rate slows, the user simply disconnects the primary filter unit and rinses it with clear water. Depending on the level of contaminants in the water, some systems may require more frequent rinsing.
Unlike other filters, this makes the filter sustainable and as long as it is properly maintained, it will never need to be replaced.
Q: Does it REALLY provide enough safe water for life?
A: Yes! In fact, The Last Well’s Safe Water System for Families can provide more than 1 million gallons of safe water. The average person drinks about 16,000 gallons of water in his or her life, so each system will actually provide for an entire family, and beyond!
Q: What does my $79 cover?
A: Your $79 will provide a complete Safe Water System for Families delivered to a needy family in Liberia. You will also provide knowledge about hygiene and safety through training and education, and help fund other water sources, such as wells for communities, which are installed when deemed most appropriate. Most importantly, you funds will also bring the Gospel to the village where your sponsored family lives. Local and regional pastors will work to plant churches in communities where there is no church and, where there is a local church, we’ll work through local church leaders to install the Safe Water System for Families so the local church will rightly be seen as the provider of life and health through the clean water solutions. These local churches will then use the provision of clean drinking water and a way to share the living water that is found only in Christ.
