Mark and Peggy Halversen, along with Pastor Peter Flomo of Liberia, founded Teamwork Africa in March 2011. Teamwork Africa plants and resources Liberian churches to meet the vital spiritual, physical and social needs of their community. The goal is for people to see God meeting their needs through their local church. One of the primary needs of many communities in Liberia is clean water. Teamwork Africa partners with The Last Well to repair or install pumps in connection with the local church. Each water project is completed with a Gospel presentation. In villages without a church, one of the Teamwork Africa pastors oversees the spiritual growth of the new believers. In addition to water projects, Teamwork Africa also addresses medical, educational, and agricultural needs of communities through developing programs in those areas, as well as child sponsorship and micro-loans. All of these programs are tools for the local churches to share the Gospel message.
Mark is currently a Christian radio broadcaster. God has greatly used his influence in many areas. Mark is passionate about evangelism and church planting. He plans to use the knowledge and skills he has been given to train Liberian pastors and church leaders with seminary level material. He will also follow up on the new believers growth following the Gospel presentations after the well installation.
